In a landmark session of the Parliament of Elnäthar — the most significant in the young nation’s history — the chamber has officially approved the adoption of a new national flag and a new coat of arms. These changes mark a pivotal moment in the symbolic and visual identity of the Kingdom of Elnäthar, reinforcing its sovereign values, democratic ideals, and cultural legacy.
The newly ratified national flag features a bicolor horizontal layout composed of two equal bands:
Upper Band – Deep Red: This bold color symbolizes the strength of the people, the sacrifice for liberty, and the historical resilience of Elnäthar through adversity and transformation.
Lower Band – Pure White: The white band represents peace, institutional transparency, justice, and honesty, which are foundational pillars of Elnäthar’s democratic structure.
At the center, slightly offset toward the hoist side, stands the new coat of arms, which acts not only as a decorative emblem but also reinforces the heraldic meaning and uniqueness of the flag.
The coat of arms, now officially declared as the heraldic emblem of the Kingdom of Elnäthar, consists of the following components:
Shield Shape: It adopts a traditional Iberian shape, with a rounded base, conveying sobriety, formality, and dignity.
Diagonal Division: The shield is divided diagonally from the upper-left corner to the lower-right corner (a “bend” partition), creating two opposing fields:
Upper Right Field (White): Contains three vigilant black lions (lions rampant) stacked vertically, facing left. They symbolize civil vigilance, institutional power, and firm determination in leadership.
Lower Left Field (Red): Mirrors the upper half with an inversion of colors — three identical lions in white on a red field, representing balance, heritage, and the strength of national duality.
Royal Crown: Above the shield rests an open royal crown with five stylized fleurons and a central cross, adorned with jewel motifs. It stands for the sovereignty of the Kingdom, the legitimacy of its institutions, and the symbolic continuity of state authority.
The Three Lions – Symbol of Unity: The three lions, in both fields, also represent the three enclaves of Elnäthar— North, Central, and South — each lion embodying the unique cultural, geographic, and historical contribution of its respective region. Together, they reflect unity in diversity, and the shared guardianship of Elnätharian values across its lands.
The coat of arms has been based on the history of Elnäthar and the Barony of Pinós, barons who inhabited the area approximately in the year 1280.
